19th Sweden Offroad Tour 4-20.7 offered on its third day another perfect summer offroad day.
Sunday July 6 at SOT Vånga-Kristianstad hade once again +26 degrees Celsius och sunshine all day. It got hot in the gravel pit/pot and many chose to take a cool dip in the nearby Ivösjön (Lake Ivö).
Vånga has different terrain: a huge gravel pit with free driving everywhere, lots of steep slopes, some trails in a forest and two water/mud holes. To drive on the sand is smooth and soft like cotton and you need 4x4 all the time.
30 vehicles showed up, 10 of them ATVs. Some say Vånga gravel pit is too easy offroad driving. I say: try to drive the steep slopes uphill!
Nice was that three generations of the family Hallberg from north west county Skåne showed with their Jeep Chorekees: grandfather Magnus, daddy Stefan and son Joel. SOT is fun for all generations, and especially doing it together.
The land owner served fresh sandwiches and coffee for breakfast(!) and freshly grilled hot dogs for lunch.
Tomorrow Monday July 7 10 pm we drive SOT Boasjö-Karlskrona, 30 kilometres northwest of Karlskrona. 10 kilometres of offroad tracks from top of the ridge and down to the lake. Boasjö is famous for its lunch and environment: Bacon and hash potatoes at the food camp by the beautiful lake. And you can have a look at the world's only 6x6 sauna! 2 pm we drive our thrilling tourist trip!
