Sweden Offroad Tour Motor stadium-Nyköping Saturday July 12 set a new record för participating vehicles, so far on SOT 2014. Over 50 4x4 cars and 4x4 ATVs showed up. Very surprising for a new offroad area. But the weather was perfect; Sunny for the ninth day in a row and pleasant temperature of +22 degrees Celsius.
Nyköping offers a 2,5 kilometer long forest with a myriad och trails and free driving everywhere. Including demanding granite mountain and deep mud holes. Plus a kilometre long and winding motocross track. There is a gravel road going into the middle of the offroad area making it easy accessable for all.
Our partner had very good service with no less then three orienteering drives simultainously, to get familiar with the new area; cars light, cars medium and ATV. Standard cars started with driving the motocross track one round. Even a Dacia Duster owner thought the easy trails where suitable for his car without low gear.
Our youngest driving participants showed upp in Nyköping, Tea, 9 years, from Stockholm drove her small ATV both in the terrain and MANY loops on the MX track. With her father on his ATV coming after. All ages have fun on SOT.
Sweden's largest motor magazine Vi Bilägare ("We car owners") came by for taking some photos of the test drive of the new Subaru 4x4 on the MX track. Tour leader Peter Öjerskog helping them by driving the new car and making as much dust as possible.
The motor stadium has all the facilities; large parking area, café, toilets, shower, in and out side sitting area with good view over all the action.
We will for sure drive in Nyköping next year and hope for even more terrain to drive on.
Tomorrow Sunday July 13 10 am we drive Sweden Offroad Tour Gröndal-Eskilstuna - our most popular offroad area. Because it is Sunday, and a huge and varied area around which 2,5 million people are living. Expect 60-70 cars and ATVs.
