It was yett another lovely offroad day on Sweden Offroad Tour Brändåsen-Kumla Friday July 18. Sunshine and +24 degrees Celsius and a swim in a nearby lake.
Brändåsen has a varied area: open fields, forest trails, mud holes/piles, technical course and Sweden's only permanent ATV mud race track. We were 30 vehicles, half of then ATVs. Good for a weekday.
Father Anders and son Max, 14 years, Lejdebo from the Örebro area have been driving offroad in Brändåsen for many many many years. Max since he was a small child with his own 2WD machine or passenger with his father. Now he drives a fullgrown CF 300 cc, and his papa a CF 500 cc. An example that both children and parents can have fun together on equal conditions on SOT.
Our partner club Askersunds TerrängFolk, ATF, ("Askersunds Terrain People") served delicious hamburgers, the national meal on SOT. We had our Rindab/Warn lottery with T-shirts, pikéshirts and flash lights to give out.
The last weekend of Sweden Offroad Tour 2014 will be exciting and historical with its first "border meeting":
First SOT Motorcross track-Dals-Ed Saturday July 19 at 10 am in Sweden.
Then SOT Rudskogens Motorsenter-Rakkestad-Norway Sunday July 20 at 1 pm (NOTIFY THE STARTING TIME 1 pm, DUE TO RESPECT FOR CHURCH SRVICES SIN NORWAY!).
Will Norway beat this year's recod with 60 vehicles on SOT Gröndal-Eskilstuna?! Our partner club in Sweden, Nössemark-Ed Off-Roaders will all go to Norway on Sunday!
