75 cars, ATVs and UTVs (4 of then!) turned up at motor stadium Gröndal west of Eskilstuna! That is a new SOT record for SOT Gröndal-Eskilstuna! We continue to have around 50 % more vehicles than last year and WILL SET A NEW RECORD on our historic 20 year anniversary tour!
But Eskilstuna did not beat Karlsham's 80 cars in the South, who had help from 20 Danish cars, half a dozen Dutch cars and as many Norwegians. But Gröndal had without doubt most Swedish participants.
The problem is to get our foreign quests to drive more up north on SOT, and not just the South, after all it is only 500 kilometres between Hässleholm and Stockholm.
A windy and cloudy morning in Eskilstuna but then came sunshine and only slight breeze - perfect for offroading. The rain previous day left a lot of water on the moto cross track and forest trails, developing into glorious mud!
Gröndal is a HUGE area, som much to drive that there are always new parts to discover. A favorite is the small granite mountain for spectacular car climbing.
Offroad organizer (O.A.S) Malin Bruce showed up in her trusty Land Rover Discovery and whole family in tow: husband, children, dog! She never misses a big 4x4 adventure. Also lots of familiar faces from the crowded Lake Mälaren valley!
Our partner SMK Södermanland served freshly grilled hamburgers and mighty cold drinks. The veranda overlooking the area was crowded during lunchtime.
Tomorrow Monday July 20 10 AM we drive the classic area Sandlycke-Strängnäs. A 2 kilometres open powerline with a variation of terrain.
Welcome and join us when Sweden's greatest 20 year celebratin 4x4 adventure sets a new record!
