500 cars, ATVs and UTVs took part in 20th Sweden Offroad Tour July 10-26 2015! That is a new participant record for SOT and the ultimate way to celebrate our 20 year anniversary!
Over 2000 photos will be published on Photos within a week.
For many years we have had 400 vehicles. But suddenly we do an increase with 25 % to 500 vehicles.
SOT is now Sweden's by far greatest 4x4 adventure, since High Chaparral Offroad Meet closed two years ago. We are now bigger than classic meetings like Kättilstorp and Ränneslätt! Not only when it comes to number of offroad days but also number of participating vehicles! That also make us on of the world's greatest 4x4 adventures!
Two cars whent All the way - All the days: Swede Richard Wanstadius in his Jeep Wrangler 2004 and Dutch Ferdinand Tempel and his father Jelle in a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004.
A third German woman had planned to go the full tour. But her transport car, a Volvo, broke down, not her offroad car, a Suzuki SJ...
To take part in SOT a day or two is a walk in the park. But the more you participate the more demanding. And going All the way (3000 kilometres) and All the days (17 SOT days) is quite an achievement!
The questions are: why did we set a new record this year?
Because it was the 20 year anniversary?
Because we started one week later than earlier to adjust to the continent's late vacations and holidays?
Because Sweden's had its coldest summer in decades and the beach was never an option?
Because 20 years of hard work finally gave result, a "ketchup-effect"?
Or was it a combination of all above? We do not know. What do YOU think? Tell US!
Thanks all participants, land owners, partner clubs, sponsors and spectators for making our historical 20 year anniversary such a succes with 500 vehicles!
Tour leader Peter Öjerskog was especially satisfied with his new Cooper Discoverer STT tires on his dark blue Jeep Grand Cherokee 1995. Fresh and sharp rubber giving and INCREDIBLE grip!
21st Sweden Offrroad Tour goes July 8-24 2016. Program and map will be published on this site December 1 2015. WELCOME!
