Today Friday July 8 21st Sweden Offroad Tour started at SOT Mölleröd-Hässleholm. Nearly 40 cars arrived, ATV not allowed.
The weather was absolutely perfect for offroad. Sunny, partly cloudy, max 22 degrees Celsius, and wet on the ground due to raining earlier in the week. The beach was not an option!
Almost 40 cars is good for our sneak start on Friday. In the coming weekend there will be more cars.
Erling Carlsson from Vinslöv drove his unique Volvo 9031 1963, called the "PV-jeep" in Sweden. The closest Swedish car to Willys-Jeep. And it was in perfect condition! The spare wheel in front working as a bumper too.
Richard Wanstadius in his Jeep Wrangler 2004 fullfilled his dream last year by taking part in all 17 offroad days on SOT. This year he will settle for half of that. He will never miss SOT!
Jörg Walter and wife from Germany drove there Jeep Wrangler Unlimited diesel 2014. They have been taking part in offroad adventures all over Europe and now it is time for Sweden!
Mölleröd offers a beautiful leaf tree area, with some rocks and mud.
At 2 PM we drove a volountary 5 km beautiful green laning to Sweden's oldest settlement, 14000 years old!
It was at Mölleröd in 1991, 25 years ago, that we started offroad meetings for standard 4x4 cars, which four years later developed into Sweden Offroad Tour! The club Hässleholms MK has been our partner for a quarter of a century!
Fresh hamburgers and hot dogs in home baked bread were served.
The evening before tour leader Peter Öjerskog visited the 50s Ritzy Nostalgi in Skånes Fagerhult by E4. A wonderful dose of nostalgia!
Tomorrow we drive SOT Sågbacken-Hästveda, north of Hässleholm. Expect a LOT OF CARS!
