Cross Jeepers from Baden in Germany visited Sweden Offroad Tour Olerum-Söderkoping today Friday July 15! They all drive Jeeps; CJ, Wrangler Unlimited, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.
Back home they have mostly mud so they liked to do some serious rock crawling in Olerum. And of course Swedish terrain always have stones,a memory from the ice age. The Germans rock crawling was impressive!
Olerum offers Sweden's largest and most varied private offroad area; endless trails, open fields, mud holes and the beautiful granite mountain to climb!
At 2 PM there was a volountary safari drive outside the offroad area, led by a Volvo 6x6! A bonus!
The local weekly newspaper Länstidningen made a feature, the journalist member of Swedish Land Rover Club!
One local car got seriously stuck in a mud rut out on the fields. Luckily we have our German 5 ton MAN truck as a heavy and stable anchor car!
At lunch time it was crowded at the veranda. They served 150 hamburgers in one hour = one hamburger every 25 seconds!
The ground was mostly dry because no rain in the night, the sky was cloudy, temperature max 20 degrees Celsius, but a small rain shower held the dust down for a while. Perfect weather for offroading.
Totally 55 4x4 cars, ATV, UTV, Man truck and Volvo 6x6 took part, good for a weekday.
Tomorrow Saturday July 16 we drive SOT Svansta-Nyköping at the citys motor stadium. Beside terrain they have a long and winding moto cross track! Because it is weekend we expect a lot of vehicles! Camping allowed at the area.
