160 cars in Sweden Offroad Tour 1997

160 4x4 cars from 8 countries took part in Sweden Offroad Tour 1997 - Sweden´s longest and only international offroad adventure. The participants also enjoyed the nordic country´s record-warm summer during all the 2500 kilometers and 19 days.

The tour went from Simrishamn in the south of Sweden to Kiruna and the midnight sun in the north. The participants also passed Swedens lowest point (under sea level) and highest road (975 meters).

Every other day there where offroad driving on a rented military area. The ten offroad days contained every imaginable sort of terrain for almost unlimited driving: treeless mountains, desertlike sand areas, true wilderness, endless trails, lakes of mud, beds of stones - and bits of snow!

The tour was divided into ten offroad days and nine travel days. The good thing is that you can go on and off (and on again!) the tour whenever you want. Pre registration is not necessary, you pay day by day at the offroad areas.
